Is this merely for presentations or are you also trying to do cut-and-fill calculations? I have not used Vectorworks in quite sometime so I can't offer any suggestions there. Sketchup might be good for presentation work but in my opinion will not yield the same amount of options for construction calculations and documentation that AutoCAD might offer.
